During a successful 10 years in which HMA students established themselves on the competition circuit, gaining 5 British Championships among numerous individual and team wins, the instructors and students found themselves in demand to provide self defense training to nurses, the local college’s and even local police officers.  Senior Instructors and Students were asked to provide Security to Local Night Clubs and this led directly to the world of Film Productions.

Nowadays Hastings Martial Arts Ltd provides bodyguards and security to major film productions in the UK and abroad.  Its film credits include ‘Enigma’ ‘Bridget Jones’ and ‘Eastern Promises’.  Stars including ‘Kate Winslett’ ‘Renée Zellweger’ ‘Viggo Mortensen’ ‘Naomi Watts’ ‘Colin Firth’ and many others have been looked after by bodyguards trained at Hastings Martial Arts. 

Having worked in Countries such as the USA, the Middle East and Africa as well as Europe and the UK the Instructors at Hastings Martial Arts have not forgotten their roots and Senior Instructor Ian Ford provides Classes and Private Lessons in the Sussex Area.  There are also thriving Women only classes and Competition Training Courses.
